Head to Downtown Pensacola on any given Saturday between 9am-2pm this month, and you’ll find Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza bustling with local small business owners, an eclectic array of fresh Spring flowers, locally-grown seasonal produce, handcrafted items, fine art and baked goods—and thousands of visitors browsing, shopping and enjoying the laid back, music-filled Palafox Market.
The Downtown Improvement Board event has been drawing visitors to the downtown district for the past 12 years, and is consistently voted Best Outdoor Market, Best Place to Buy Local Produce and Best Free Thing to Do in local reader polls. The free farmers market occurs every Saturday from 9am-2pm, rain or shine, with the exception of once each a year during the Grand Mardi Gras Parade weekend.
